Tars Push Bucs to the Brink

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (October 10, 2026) – The Tars fell just short in a second-half rally against Barry on Saturday, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Buccaneers.

Rollins earned the first shot on goal of the day, but Barry quickly answered. The Bucs turned possession the other way and converted on the counter in the 10th minute to take an early 1-0 advantage.

Both sides battled from there, trading possession through the midfield and exchanging shots, but neither was able to find the mark. The physicality began to pick up as the half progressed, with Jayden Fernandez being shown the first card for the Tars as the fouls began to add up.

Barry regained control and worked its way down the field before finding the top right corner in the 28th minute to double the advantage. The deficit grew just a minute later when the Bucs struck again, quickly putting Rollins in a 3-0 hole.

Barry continued to apply pressure as the Tars fought to keep the deficit there heading into the break, carrying the 3-0 score into halftime.

Rollins came out pressing to open the second half, drawing several fouls from the Bucs as Finlay Prain fired off a pair of attempts. The pressure finally paid off when Prain buried a shot into the bottom right corner, getting the Tars on the board while also drawing a card on Barry in the process.

The goal gave Rollins new life as the Tars continued to push forward. In the 65th minute, Rollins earned a free kick and maintained possession before once again finding Prain, who beat the keeper for his second goal of the half to cut the deficit to 3-2.

Prain continued to threaten, putting another shot on goal before the Tars earned a pair of corners in search of the equalizer. The intensity continued to rise as time wound down, with Cory Edwards and Pedro Lameiras both being shown cards for Rollins before Barry picked up another of its own.

The Tars continued to win back possession and push numbers forward as the final minutes ticked away, but the Barry defense held firm. Rollins earned one final free kick in the 89th minute, but couldn't turn the opportunity into the tying goal as the Buccaneers escaped with the 3-2 victory.

Barry moves to 3-6-2 (2-4-1 SSC), while Rollins falls to 4-4-2 (2-3-1 SSC). The Tars return home on Wednesday, October 14 at 6:00 pm when they host Nova Southeastern at Cahall-Sandspur Field.
