#4 Sharks Down Tars

WINTER PARK, Fla. (January 10, 2026) – Rollins women's basketball fell to No. 4 Nova Southeastern on Saturday afternoon inside Warden Arena, dropping an 89–33 decision.

The Sharks struck first with a pair of early buckets before Claire Erickson got Rollins on the board, converting all three free throws after drawing a shooting foul. Nova continued to apply pressure, capitalizing on a Rollins scoring drought to stretch the lead. The free-throw line accounted for much of the Tars' offense in the opening frame, as Victoria Escribano, Tara Murray, and Faith Newton each connected, but NSU closed the quarter ahead 21–7.

Nova carried the momentum into the second, continuing to build separation out of the timeout. McKenna Murphy provided Rollins' first field goal of the day with a mid-range jumper, and Escribano followed with back-to-back baskets, finishing once off a turnover and again on an offensive rebound. The Sharks quickly answered to regain control, though Murray added a free throw and Escribano converted an and-one putback to keep points coming. Grace Craig added a finish in the paint late, but Nova held a 45–19 advantage at halftime.

Craig opened the second half with a driving layup, but NSU responded with another extended run. Craig found the net again on a layup off an Escribano feed, but Rollins struggled to find sustained offense. A Newton free throw late in the quarter accounted for the Tars' final points of the third, as Nova carried a 75–27 lead into the final frame.

Murray opened fourth-quarter scoring at the line, but the Sharks' momentum continued. Escribano added another free throw, and Makayla Daube converted a putback shortly after. Escribano returned to the stripe once more, and Daube closed the scoring with a free throw as Nova secured the 89–33 result.

Escribano led Rollins with 10 points while also adding two assists. Erickson and Craig each scored six, with Erickson going perfect from the free-throw line. Jordyn Egger paced the Tars on the glass with seven rebounds.

Rollins falls to 5–10 overall and 0–8 in SSC play, while Nova Southeastern remains unbeaten at 15–0 (7–0 SSC). The Tars return to action Saturday, Jan. 17, for a 2 p.m. road matchup at Palm Beach Atlantic in West Palm Beach.
