Emmitsburg, Md. – Day one of the Women's ACC Round 1 took place Saturday, hosted by St. Mary's. The showcase regatta featured FJs in a two-division scoring format with 17 schools in attendance. Six races were completed on the day, with light breeze across the East Coast forcing rotations between W4 and W3 courses to keep racing moving.
Rollins sits 13th overall with 137 points (68 in A Division, 69 in B). The Tars tallied three top-10 finishes, highlighted by skipper Annie Samis and crew Jane McKenzie with a ninth in B Division's third race. In A Division, skipper Shay Bridge and crew Maggie Burnham recorded the team's best finish of the day with a sixth in race two.
The regatta continues tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 28.
Charleston, S.C. – Rollins also opened competition Saturday at the Charleston Fall Interconference. The cross-regional regatta, sailed in 420s, brought together 13 schools in a two-division scoring format. Four races were completed on the day.
The Tars sit 11th after day one with 80 total points, 44 from A Division and 36 from B. Rollins combined for five top-10 results across the four races. In A Division, Jack Adderley (skipper) and Alexander Goldsmith (crew) contributed two of those finishes, while Milo Fleming (skipper) and Cameron Kinnear (crew) added three more from B Division.
Racing will conclude in Charleston tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 28.
