Daytona Beach, Fla. – Rollins opened Sunshine State Conference play on the road Friday night, falling in three sets to Embry-Riddle (22–25, 17–25, 9–25).
The Tars started fast in the first, using early kills from Makayla Moran and Rylee Yarborough to build a 3–0 lead, trading points with the Eagles throughout, but ultimately dropping the opener. Embry-Riddle used a fast start in the second, hitting .474 in the frame to build separation Rollins couldn't overcome. The third frame proved the toughest, with the Eagles stringing together points to finish off the sweep.
Grange led the way with five kills, three aces, and seven digs in the effort, while Moran and Marta Tsaneva each added four kills. Yarborough matched Grange with three aces to go along with four kills, and libero Sarah Seabrooke anchored the defense with nine digs. Off the bench, Elena Arnold gave Rollins a boost with three kills on five swings.
Rollins moves to 11–3 overall and 0–1 in SSC play. The Tars will look to bounce back quickly, heading to Melbourne on Saturday for a 4 p.m. matchup with Florida Tech. Fans can find streaming and live stat links on the Rollins Volleyball schedule page.
