TIFFIN, Ohio (September 11, 2025) - Women's soccer continued their hot start to the year with an impressive 4-0 win over host Tiffin University on Thursday. The victory moves Rollins to 3-0 on the year, while Tiffin falls to 1-1-1.
It didn't take long for the scoreboard to get its first action. In the eighth minute, midfielder
Emma Griner led the charge towards the Dragon goal, dropping a dime to
Lexie Cooper. The senior captain knew what to do, finding a gap and sending the ball home to give the Tars a 1-0 lead.Â
After a save on each side, the score changed again in the 22nd minute when
Sophia Harutunian beat Sam McPhee for the first goal of her career.Â
Rollins continued to play the role of aggressor, outpacing the Dragons in shots and corner kicks. In the 39th minute,
Skylar Kruszka collected a loose ball after a scrum for a corner kick, found her footing, and delivered a rocket into the net for the third brace of the day for the Tars.Â
Following the halftime break, Rollins would add one more to the board off a free kick. Harutunian was able to find her teammate
Emma McMurry who delivered a strike for her fourth goal of the young season in the 68th minute.Â
With the healthy lead, Rollins ran the clock out and ended with their first clean sheet since October 30th of last year at Saint Leo.Â
The Tars outshot the Dragons 14-6 (6-3 on goal), had a 7-0 advantage on corner kicks, and had three fewer fouls (9-6) than their opponent. An all-around perfect performance, helped by
Lauren Mehos in goal, who collected three saves.
The ladies will spend a day enjoying the sights and offerings of the Buckeye State before facing off against Ohio Domincan on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.Â
