DUBLIN, Ireland - A competitive field of 29 boats hailing from Ireland, Great Britain, Spain, Netherlands, Virgin Islands, and USA took to Dublin Bay for nine races over the course of three days at the 2025 Volvo Dún Laoghaire Regatta and Melges15 European Championship last weekend.

Conditions presented a broad range of variability, with most sailing in heavy current with a light sea breeze. Dublin Bay turned on for the final two races of the first day, providing for some epic downwinds that allowed sailors to hit top speeds of 15.1 knots.
Head coach
Esteban Forrer and his crew mate Jeremy Herren earned a podium spot after their nine events, taking third in the competition. The tandem placed second in the second and third races of the event, and added five additional Top 6 finishes. The did not finish lower than 14th in any race.

Cameron Kinnear hit a speed bump in their first race of the competition, but bounced back nicely and finished in the Top 20 overall. Their top performance was in race six when they finished tenth.
"We took away valuable lessons, connected with old and new friends, and have some incredible photos to remember it all," remarked Forrer. "I was thrilled with the effort from Hilton and Cameron, and loved seeing the Tars represented in international competition. We are looking forward to getting back stateside and beginning our fall season."
