ITA Release
Liu was integral to the success of the Tars this season, playing exclusively from first position singles. In the spring season, she posted a 10-6 record overall, facing one of the most grueling opponent list in the country. Of her sixteen matches, eight came against ranked teams, and five came agianst teams in the Top 5 of the national poll. She opened the year with seven consecutive wins, including matches against fellow All-Americans Kristyna Hranacova (Nova Southeastern), Dana Heimen (Flagler) and Salma Djoubri (Lynn). Liu went on to face three more All-Americans at the end of the season, dropping all three matches. Still, her ability to perform admirably against the toughest competition helped first-year coach
Tasi Purcell Batista enjoy a winning record in her inaugural run.
Liu was named a second-team All-SSC performer earlier this season.
