Perantoni, Carr Claim All-SSC Honors

Perantoni lands first team nod, Carr on second team

MELBOURNE, Fla. (May 6, 2025) - The Sunshine State Conference released their end-of-season awards on Tuesday afternoon. Among the honorees, who were voted on by the 11 coaches in the conference, were freshman Brianna Perantoni and junior Madi Carr

Perantoni had a monumental impact on the Tars in her first collegiate season, earning her way onto the All-SSC first team as an outfielder. The Miami native was the spark plug for the Tar offense at the top of the lineup, hitting .421 on the year with 64 hits in 152 at bats. Six of the hits went for extra bases, including two doubles and a team-high four triples. Perantoni scored 23 runs, drove in 17, and stole 14 bases. She reached base at a .418 clip, and had a slugging percentage of .487.

In 44 games played, she went hitless in only five of them. Perantoni had 19 multi-hit games, and a season-long hit streak of 20 games between February 22 - March 22. She was 5th in the SSC in total hits and second in batting average.

Carr was used in multiple roles during her first year in Winter Park. Suiting up in 44 games with 41 starts, Carr slashed .322/.352/.463 with 39 hits in 121 at bats. She pounded out ten extra base hits with six doubles, a triple, and three home runs, the second-most on the team. Carr scored 13 runs, drove in 19, and also stole three bases for good measure. Her top performance came at Embry-Riddle on March 1 when she went 4-4 with a home run, two runs scored, and three RBI. Carr saw time at both catcher and designated player this season.
