WINTER PARK, Fla. (November 25, 2025) - Men's basketball had plenty of energy for a team that had played less than 24 hours before tip on Tuesday night. Rollins had little trouble dispatching the visiting Warner Royals by a score of 119-49. The win moves Rollins to 4-2 on the season.
The Tars jumped out to a 30-0 lead, getting wide open looks from three, working down low, and creating fast break opportunities on defense. The Royals did not get on the board until the 12:24 mark when they hit a three. Rollins would add a 19-0 run later in the half, but a seven point flurry from the Royals cut into the lead late in the first half.
Ricky Ghedini had a nice dunk to wrap up the half, giving Rollins a 69-16 lead at the break.
The Tars shot 58% from the field and 44% from three in the first half.
Warner improved in the second half, knocking down more shots, while a number of reserves the Tars earned valuable gametime on the court.
Michael Niemann was particularly effective, knocking down four threes on the night. He was one of six Tars to hit double figures in scoring.
Cheo James was also impressive, stroking four deep balls for a career-high twelve points. And freshman
Jackson Gaffney recorded his first career double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.
The largest cheer of the night though came when
Caleb Samuel showcased a nifty Euro step in the paint, banking in a fallaway floater to give him his first points of the season.
Rollins chucked up 46 three in the game, hitting 17 of them (37%). They also added 14 blocks and four steals on defense.
The Tars, who just played three games in four days, will have a week off before seeing the court on Wednesday, December 3. Rollins will welcome the Florida Tech Panthers to town for the SSC home opener, following the girl's game between the two schools.
