ROME, Ga. (October 18, 2025) -
Alyssa Novoa's incredible run in the ITA Cup ended Saturday with a semifinal loss to Barry's Dana Heimen. The sophomore, playing amongst the nation's best, fell to the #1 overall seed, 7-5, 6-1.
Â
A back and forth first set went Heimen's way, helping her jump out to an early one set to nothing lead. In the second set, Heimen's stout playing ultimately ended Novoa's title hopes just two wins away from the trophy. The loss does not take away from the amazing accomplishments by Novoa, the first Tar to compete in the ITA Cup dince Angie Zguna in 2001. The sophomore's determination set the tone for the greatness that lies ahead for herself and the entire team.

Head coach
Tasi Purcell Batista echoed a sentiment felt by the entire Rollins community: "I'm incredibly proud of Alyssa for her dedication and the hard work that brought her to this point. She represented Rollins with excellence, and I'm excited to continue our journey and see what the future holds."

The journey continues this Friday with the Varner Double Dual on the Lake. The event will take place on campus at the brand new, state-of-the-art, Tennis & Golf Center. Be sure to come out to cheer on the Tars as they look to conclude a historic fall on and off the court!
