Tars Blanked by Fighting Knights

Lynn defeated Rollins 1-0 on Saturday night

BOCA RATON, Fla. (October 18, 2025) - Women's soccer suffered a blow on Saturday, falling on the road 1-0 at Lynn. The loss moves the Tars to 5-5-2, 1-4-2 SSC on the year while the Fighting Knights improve to 2-7-4, 1-5-1 SSC.

The first half was a dream for defense enthusiasts, as only two shots were put on target, both of which were saved by Lynn's Emma Brunelli. While the Tars backline did not allow a shot, they were hit with a season-high two first-half yellow cards on Emma McMurry and Gabby Mellett

Rollins came out as the aggressors in the second half, but all of their shot attempts missed the mark. On the other side of the field, Lynn didn't eve take a shot until twenty minutes into the half.

The lone goal in the match came in the 78th minute. Amanda Caines was whistled for a foul, leading to a free kick for the Knights. On the play, Michaela Virgin sent the ball into the box. A header from Brisa Sastre bounced over to Arianna Kinsley, who used her own head to push it past the line.

The Tars put two more shots on goal before the final whistle, but neither had enough to equalize the score.

Rollins is off on Wednesday before returning to action against Embry-Riddle on Saturday, October 25. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm from Daytona Beach.
