EL CENTRO Calif. (October 18, 2025) - The waterski team once again put together a fantastic effort at the NCWSA Syndicate Collegiate National Championship over the past three days. They once again achieved a Top 5 finish in the final standings, placing fourth in slalom, fourth in tricks, and seventh in jump.
Headlining the Tars' efforts was
Charlie Ross, who once again earned the title of top college slalom skier. His final effort of three buoys at 41 off gave him the win, one point ahead of teammates
Kamil Belmrah, who skied two buoys at 41 off.
Jaime Palomino took sixth with 5.5 buoys at 39.5 off, and
Niki Attensam was seventh with three buoys at 39.5 off.
Will Bruzzese finished just outside of the Top 20 with a score of 102.5 after a half buoy at 38 off.
Women's slalom saw
Leona Berner with the top Rollins finish, eleventh, with 1.5 buoys at 35 off.
Martina Font took 21st,
Elsa Bergsgard finished 29th,
Louisa Behner was 33rd, and
Alex Baldwin wa 48th.
The next best finish came in women's tricks where
Hannah Stopnicki claimed silver with a pass of 4,390 points. The only tricker to best her score was Kennedy Hansen of Lafayette, who had 4,940 points.
Elsa Bergsgard also found herself in the top ten, finishing ninth with a score of 2,440.
Martina Font (1,410) came in 18th,
Izzy Tremblay (1,020) took 23rd, and
Leona Berner scored 135 points for the Tars with her run of 420.
Pablo Font captured a podium spot in men's tricks, finishing in third with a score of 5,870.
Patrick Payne cracked the Top 20 with a run of 2,300 to give him 18th place. Ross tested his overall skills and took home 24th with 1,620 points.
Robbie Craig and
Jaime Palomino also tricked for the Tars.
In women's jump,
Leona Berner took fifth-place after flying 127 feet, one of the best jumps for Rollins women's ski in years. Tremblay,
Martina Font, Behner, and Baldwin also hit the ramp for Rollins.
Payne was the top jumper on the men's side with an effort of 123 feet.
Anthony Shelton was good for 111 feet, and
Levi Mitchell added 94 feet.
Robbie Craig and
Grayson Arnold each jumped for Rollins as well.
In overall scoring, Ross finished 18th and Payne took 24th. For the women, Berner was 12th overall after competing in all three events.
Martina Font was 19th, Bergsgard was 28th, Stopnicki was 34th, Tremblay was 38th, Behner was 50th, and Baldwin was 75th.
