Tars Sweep Lions on Dig Pink Night

Winter Park, Fla. – Rollins swept the Lions of Saint Leo inside Warden Arena on Thursday night in its annual Dig Pink match, earning a straight-sets victory (25–21, 25–18, 25–20).

The Lions kept things close early in the first before a pair of kills from Cameron Grange and a service ace from Kyla Krimmel gave the Tars some separation. Rollins held that edge the rest of the way to take the opener, highlighted by a dominant set from Grange, who posted seven kills and six digs in the frame. The Tars kept rolling in the second, building an early lead and never looking back to extend the match to 2–0. Both teams mixed up their lineups in the third, but Rollins stayed composed through 12 ties and four lead changes. A mid-set push on Krimmel's serve, followed by a five-point run with Rylee Yarborough at the service line, gave the Tars the cushion they needed to finish off the sweep and claim their second straight SSC win.

Rollins showcased a balanced attack with seven different players recording a kill. Marta Tsaneva led the way with 11, followed by Grange and Yarborough with nine apiece. Setter Jenna Garza dished out 25 assists to guide the offense, while Tsaneva and libero Sarah Seabrooke each tallied two aces. Seabrooke also tied Grange for the team lead with 10 digs. At the net, Willow Barron made an instant impact after entering in the second set, totaling three solo blocks and one assisted block.

With the win, Rollins improves to 13–8 overall and 2–6 in SSC play, while Saint Leo falls to 1–11 (0–7 SSC). The Tars return to Warden Arena on Tuesday, Oct. 21, for a 7 p.m. matchup against Florida Tech. Tonight's specialty Dig Pink jerseys are being auctioned to benefit the team's partnership with the Sideout Foundation in support of breast cancer research.
