Tampa, Fla. – Rollins wrapped up its weekend road slate on Saturday afternoon, falling to No. 1-ranked Tampa in straight sets (15–25, 12–25, 18–25).
The Spartans came out strong in the opening frame, forcing Rollins to play from behind early. A mid-set push from the Tars, highlighted by a Marta Tsaneva kill and service ace, narrowed the gap, but Tampa held steady to take the first. The second set followed a similar pattern, with the Spartans using a .500 team hitting percentage to stay in control throughout. Rollins found momentum to start the third, building a 7–2 lead behind a serving run from Cameron Grange. Tampa responded quickly, pulling even at 10–10 before edging back ahead and closing out the match.
Grange led the Tars offensively with 10 kills on a .417 hitting clip, marking her 14th double-digit kill performance of the season. Tsaneva and Makayla Moran added six kills apiece, while setter Jenna Garza paced all setters with 18 assists. On defense, libero Sarah Seabrooke continued her consistent play with 10 digs, her 16th double-digit outing of the season.
Rollins moves to 11–8 overall and 0–6 in Sunshine State Conference play, while top-ranked Tampa stays unbeaten at 14–0 (6–0 SSC). The Tars return to Winter Park on Tuesday, Oct. 14, hosting Eckerd at 7 p.m. inside Warden Arena.
