WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 11, 2025) - Women's soccer put together one of their top performances of the season, earning a 1-1 draw against #10 Nova Southeastern on Saturday. The Tars now stand at 4-4-2 on the year with a 0-3-2 record in SSC play. The Sharks remain unbeaten at 8-0-3, 3-0-3 SSC.
The first goal of the game came via penalty ick in the 15th minute. Following a corner kick on the Rollins goal, the Tars'
Gianna Babusci was whistled for a handball in the box. Sofia Suarez took the kick for Nova, and smashed it into the left side of the net.
The Sharks continued to press on offense, but
Lauren Mehos was strong in goal, recording a pair of saves in the half.
Rollins came out of the break with a new purpose, and put together a fantastic 45 minutes of play. With
Amanda Caines ruining every Nova Southeastern chance with her superb defense, the Tars eventually found a breakaway look on the offensive end.
Emma Griner navigated her way through the defense, and lobbed a ball to the right side for a streaking
Gabby Boyd. As she ran out of real estate, the senior captain ripped a missile at a tough angle to tie the game at one.
Both goalies were busy in the last thirty minutes of play, but both Mehos and Emilie Schroeder denied each attempt that came their way. The best chance for Rollins came off a corner, but
Emma McMurry's header hit the crossbar, just inches from being a game-winner.
Coming into the game, Nova had outscored their last three opponents 15-1. The Tars will look to carry their momentum into their next game on the road at Eckerd on Wednesday, October 15. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
