FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (October 11, 2025) - Men's soccer suffered a 2-1 road loss at Nova Southeastern on Saturday, moving them to 5-3-2 on the year with a 2-2-1 record in the SSC. Nova Southeastern improves to 5-2-1, 2-2-1 SSC on the year.
The Sharks got on the board quickly when Santiago Hoyos Lopez received a pass from Matthew Gordon and worked it past Killian Vallant. They added to their lead in the 31st minute on a strike from Toga Katsuma, who was assisted by Lopez on the play.
Rollins put two shots on goal in the first half, but both were saved. They also had four corner kicks compared to the Sharks' two.
The Tars avoided the shutout with a goal from
Rodrigo Ayala Omana in the 76th minute.
Tolu Junaid was able to break away from the defense with a streak down the sideline, and worked a cross into the box. After bouncing off a defender, Ayala Omana found the ball and a wide open net, leading to an easy goal.
Rollins put one final shot on target in the 88th minute, but it was saved by Santino Scerbo.
Next up for Rollins is a home game against Eckerd on Wednesday, October 15. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
