No. 17 Rollins Falls to No. 12 Nova Southeastern

The Tars will be off for two weeks before their final dual meet of the regular season

WINTER PARK, Fla. (January 17, 2025) – The 17th-ranked Rollins men's swim team battled 12th-ranked Nova Southeastern on Friday, with the Sharks emerging with a 154-108 victory. Friday's meet was the final home meet of the regular season for the Tars, who honored their 2024-25 senior class prior to the competition.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Blue and Gold opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay, as Luke Dinges, William Slowey, Evan McInerny, and Michael Tucker clocked a time of 1:31.44.
  • Keanu Garnier-Chan took second in the first individual event of the day, posting a 9:49.70 in the 1000-yard freestyle.
  • Trey Carter took second in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:43.53, followed closely by Seth Basinger in third with a time of 1:44.39.
  • Jaswanth Yannam touched the wall second in the 100-yard backstroke in 52.00, with Nicholas Bonta close behind in third (52.48).
  • Slowey grabbed second in the 100-yard breaststroke (55.48), while Tully Njoroge took third (58.31).
  • In the 200-yard butterfly, McInerny posted a second-place time of 1:46.51 while Tucker was third in 1:55.02.
  • Ben Robertson earned a third-place result in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.85.
  • Slowey got the first individual win of the day for the Tars, winning the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 46.06.
  • Dinges clocked a third-pace time of 1:55.61 in the 200-yard backstroke, while McInerny was second in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:03.91.
  • Seth Basinger placed third in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in 4:45.39.
  • Tucker finished second in the 100-yard butterfly (51.58), with Dinges close behind in third (51.77).
  • McInerny won the final individual event of the day with a time of 1:51.29 in the 200-yard individual medley.
  • The Tars closed the meet with a second-place 3:07.42 in the 200-yard freestyle relay, recorded by the quartet of Basinger, Tucker, Garnier-Chan, and Slowey.
