MELBOURNE, Fla. (January 10, 2025) – The Rollins women's swimming team opened up the 2025 calendar year with a 170-92 loss at Florida Tech on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The team of Madison Patel, Taiylor Tegler, Sarah Brown, and Amelia Kondal won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:48.25 to open the day.
- Katie Canty took second in the 1000-yard freestyle in 11:18.86, while Elliot Fox finished second in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:01.72.
- Patel finished third in the 100-yard backstroke (59.68) and Tegler picked up a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.59).
- Brown added another runner-up finish to the team total with a 2:12.68 in the 200-yard butterfly, while Kondal was third in the 100-yard freestyle (56.42).
- Avery Bannerton earned a third-place result with a 2:14.76 in the 200-yard backstroke, followed by a win for Tegler in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:28.80), the only individual event win of the day for Rollins.
- Fox was the runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle (5:26.24), while Patel took third with a 59.51 in the 100-yard butterfly.
- Lizzie Sander closed out the individual events with a second-place time of 2:18.56 in the 200-yard individual medley.
- The quartet of Kondal, Brown, Sander, and Patel wrapped up the day with a winning time of a 1:40.54 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

The Tars will return to the pool tomorrow at NAIA No. 3 St. Thomas. The meet is set to begin at 11 a.m. in Miami Gardens.
