Box Score SAINT LEO, Fla. (May 14, 2024) – The fifth-ranked and third-seeded Rollins men's tennis team saw its season come to a close on Tuesday with a 4-2 defeat at top-ranked and second-seeded Saint Leo. The Tars finish the year with a 20-3 record, while the Lions improve to 22-3 and will advance to the NCAA II Championships next week.
COACH'S QUOTES:
"If the season has to end with a loss and you can't be the one team who wins their last match - this is the way it should be," said Head Coach
Jay Friedman. "As unfortunate as it is, the guys played their butts off and at this juncture with all the work and effort, all the little things, I simply can't ask for anything more. We fought until the very end, and we just left it out there. I'm so proud to have been a part of this group. This team really was something special. Their chemistry, respect, the way they saw the big picture was all there. I think in retrospect we will all hold this year in a special place because you just can't replicate this kind of dynamic easily. From here we are super excited for the young student-athletes coming in next year, and in 2025, and we will be back and ready to take the next step."
