WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 29 2024) - Women's tennis fought hard but came up just short in their effort against Academy of Art on Friday. With the loss, the Tars move to 4-9 on the season.
The Tars jumped out to an early lead in doubles play when

Maria McKay disposed of Najean/Plazas, 6-1, on court two. The Knights would knot things up with a 6-4 win on court one, and then claim the point when Alvarez/Leth outlasted
Katie Groves/
Eve Wasil 7-5 on the third court.
Rollins answered back quickly in singles play starting with a 6-1, 6-1 win from
Nina Mitrofanova on court six. That match was followed by a 6-1, 6-4 victory for Amejlia Supulniece over
Polina Vlasova.
After the Knights captured court two as well
Katie Groves kept Rollins in the match with a 6-4, 6-4 win on number three to make it 3-2.
Academy of Art would go on to clinch the match with third singles win on number four where Viktoria Leth had her hands full against
Polina Ligay to the tune of 7-6 (3), 3-6, 6-1.
The Tars would add one more point with the final singles match on court five.
Milla Falster and Paulina Alvarez were locked in to an epic battle that saw Falster hold on for a 6-4, 6-7 (5), 10-5 win.
The loss was the fifth straight for Rollins. They will look to bounce back on Wednesday,
April 3 when they host the Eckerd Tritons in Winter Park, with first serve being scheduled for 2:00 pm.
