ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (March 2, 2024) – The No. 2 Rollins men's lacrosse team overcame a 6-5 halftime deficit to defeat Flagler on the road Saturday night, 14-10. The Tars are now 6-0 on the year, while the Saints drop to 3-3.
Jack Johnstone scored three goals, giving him 101 for his career, making him the first player in program history to reach the 100-goal milestone.
Mikey Berkman had a game-high six points with three goals and three assists to go along with three ground balls, while
Grant Hansen tallied a goal and two assists.
Lake Baker was 18-for-28 in faceoffs with a game- and career-high 10 ground balls, and
Shahé Katchadurian (5-0) got the win in goal, stopping 10 of the 20 shots he faced.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Quarter
- Johnstone scored the opener on an extra-man opportunity in the first three minutes, with Berkman backing that up with the next two goals to make it 3-0 just over five minutes into the game.
- Flagler then scored the final three goals of the quarter, tying things up at 3-3.
Second Quarter
- After the Saints scored twice to go up 5-3, Hansen and Sam Mattson responded with goals to tie the game at 5-5.
- Flagler netted a late goal to hold a 6-5 edge at the half.
Third Quarter
- Justin White scored the first goal in the second half to tie the game at six, but FC answered to go back ahead, 7-6.
- Johnstone's 100th career goal tied the game, and William Metz put one home less than a minute later to make it an 8-7 game.
- After the Saints tied it, Berkman untied it with 3:32 on the clock and Will Brandt and Max Armitage scored in the final two minutes of the quarter to put Rollins back in front, 11-8.
Fourth Quarter
- Flagler got the first two goals of the fourth to cut the lead to 11-10, but the Tars answered the bell defensively, shutting out the Saints over the final seven minutes.
- Mattson, Johnstone, and Logan Myers each tallied markers to put the game away, giving Rollins a 14-10 victory.

The Tars will be back on the road next Saturday as they travel to Garden City, New York to take on No. 5 Adelphi at 1 p.m.
