Katie Groves evened the score by winning this first match in singles play. She defeated Hannah Yip 6-2, 6-2 on court two. The Mustangs were able to answer back with a win on court four were Sofia Giraldo fought past
Nina Mitrofanova, 6-0, 6-4.
The lead would extend to 3-1 when Midwestern claimed victory on court three where Anda Ghinga outlasted
Polina Ligay 6-3, 6-4. However, the Tars stayed alive thanks to
Milla Falster, who was a winner on number five with a 6-3, 6-1 effort versus Micaela McSpadden.
The match would end on court six when Sydney Williams oulasted
Erin Yaroshuk, 6-4, 7-6 (4). The battle on court one between Jessica Binzari and
Polina Vlasova went unfinished due to the match being clinched.
Rollins will have a seven day break after playing seven matches in 15 days. when they step back on the court, it will be a SSC matchup against #2 Nova Southeastern. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 20.
