WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 6, 2024) - Men's tennis continued their strong start to the spring season with a 7-0 win over Florida National. The Tars now stand at 2-0 in the dual match season.
Rollins claimed the first point by quickly securing the top two courts in doubles play.

Efe Comu each won by scores of 6-1 on courts one and two, respectively. Even though the point was decided, court three saw an exciting matchup between

Charlie Putrino and Guido Gentille/Alejandro Suarez. After playing to a 6-6 tie, it was Florida National coming out on top with an 8-6 tiebreak.
The Tars were able to cruise through singles play for the most part. Courts one, five, and two were the first to finish, giving Rollins a 4-0 lead and the overall win. After four and six also went to the Tars, all eyes turned to number six where
Moritz Stenzer and David Santamaria were locked into a duel. In the end, it was the German senior coming through in a first set tiebreak, followed by a sweep to lock in the perfect score.

"It's always fun to get out under the lights, and the guys did not disappoint tonight," stated head coach
Jay Friedman. "We jumped out to an early lead on all courts, and finished strong. We certainly sharpened our sights and are focused on the upcoming stretch of 12 matches in 28 days. I couldn't be more excited to see all that this group has to offer."
Next up for Rollins is a showdown with Army West Point. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Sunday, February 18 in Winter Park.
