FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (November 19, 2024) – The Rollins volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at Nova Southeastern on Tuesday night, falling 25-12, 25-19, 25-16. The Tars are now 13-17 on the year, 4-15 in SSC play, while the Sharks go to 20-8 overall, 11-7 in conference matches.
Molly Norris led the Tars with eight kills while
Jadyn Troutman tallied seven kills.
Adriana Lopez led all players with 14 digs and
Natalie Horsley registered a team-best 20 assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Set One
- Rollins held a brief 2-1 lead before NSU rattled off seven points in a row to go up 8-2.
- The Sharks continued to build their advantage, reaching double-digits at 18-8 and eventually clinching the set, 25-12.
Set Two
- Set two saw the Tars go on an early 6-0 burst to pull ahead, 9-5.
- Nova Southeastern responded with a 4-0 rally to tie the set at nine, and before long the Sharks had pulled out to an 18-13 lead.
- Rollins kept it close for the remainder of the frame, but NSU was able to hold on for a 25-19 win.
Set Three
- In the third frame, Nova Southeastern scored the first four points and never trailed.
- The Blue and Gold were in it, trailing by only a pair at 11-9, when NSU caught fire, scoring eight straight points to take control with a 19-9 edge.
- The Tars couldn't overcome the deficit as the Sharks took the set, 25-16, sweeping the match.
