WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 26, 2024) – The Rollins men's swim team celebrated its home opener on Saturday with a 136-126 victory over visiting Florida Tech. The meet was a back-and-forth affair that came down to the final event of the day to decide the winner.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Blue and Gold opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay, as Luke Dinges, Tully Njoroge, Evan McInerny, and Williams\ clocked a time of 3:19.89.
- Njoroge got the first individual win for the Tars as well, pacing the field in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 57.71.
- Dinges followed up with a winning time of 1:49.95 in the 200-yard butterfly, and Slowey made it three in a row with a first-place 20.41 in the 50-yard freestyle.
- Following the break, Slowey made it back-to-back wins with a 44.87 in the 100-yard freestyle, and two races later, McInerny grabbed a victory in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:03.73.
- McInerny also won the final individual event, the 400-yard individual medley, with a time of 3:58.49, which helped push the Tars to a five-point lead with one event remaining.
- The quartet of Seth Basinger, Dinges, Keanu Garnier-Chan, and Slowey locked down the win for the Blue and Gold with a winning time of 3:03.87 in the 400-yard freestyle, and with it the crucial 11 points that secured the meet win.
