TAMPA, Fla. (October 25, 2024) – The Rollins men's swim team opened the 2024-25 season on Friday with a tri-meet against No. 5 Tampa NCAA I No. 3 Florida hosted by the Spartans. The Tars fell to Tampa, 205-57, and to the Gators, 162-100.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Blue and Gold opened the meet with a third-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, as Luke Dinges, William Slowey, Evan McInerny, and Seth Basinger clocked a time of 1:30.58.
- Basinger took fourth in his first individual event of the day, posting a 1:42.12 in the 200-yard freestyle.
- Slowey grabbed the first event win of the season with a 55.03 to win the 100-yard breaststroke.
- McInerny made it back-to-back first-place finishes as he won the 200-yard butterfly in 1:48.45.
- Dinges placed fifth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:52.05.
- In the 100-yard butterfly, McInerny posted a third-place time of 49.56.
- Slowey finished second in the final individual event, the 200-yard individual medley, with a time of 1:51.60.
- The Tars closed the meet with a fifth-place 1:25.33 in the 200-yard freestyle relay, recorded by the quartet of Basinger, Ben Robertson, Dinges, and Slowey.
