DAYTONA, Fla. (May 11, 2023) - Embry-Riddle absolutely shocked the #8 ranked Rollins Tars on Friday afternoon, winning 15-0. Rollins now stands at 34-14 on the year, with a 22-6 record in SSC play.
The Eagles scored in six of their eight at bats in this one, taking advantage of a season-high five errors from the usually sure-handed Tars defense. Embry-Riddle out-slugged the Tars twelve hits to four, and also drew nine walks while the Tars only managed one base on balls.
Rollins trailed only 1-0 in the third inning until the wheels fell off. Embry-Riddle scored five runs in the inning thanks to three errors and a three-run home run. They also scored multiple runs in each of the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh innings.
Meanwhile, Rollins only managed four hits in the game, all of which were singles. They also never got a runner past second base.
Rollins will look to right the ship on Friday when the two teams square off again in Daytona. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
