WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 17, 2023) - Rollins wrapped up their regular season with a convincing 6-1 victory against Washington & Lee on Monday afternoon. This gives Rollins a 15-5 overall record for the season, their most wins since 2019.
The day started with a relatively easy sweep through doubles. Rollins captured all three courts with
Efe Comu/
Luke Quaynor taking court one 6-1,
Mikkel Baumann/
Guillermo Castaneda taking court two 6-2, and
Charlie Putrino/
Richard Stoiberer taking court three 6-2.
Single also went the way of the Tars, but they did not manage the full sweep. Castaneda took down court three 6-2, 6-1, followed by Putrino on court five 6-1, 6-2. The match was then clinched on number four where Stoiberer walked through a 6-2, 6-2 win.Â
Mikkel Baumann took home the win on court six, defeating James Kurani 6-3, 6-3. Before the match, Baumann was honored by coach
Jay Friedman and his teammates as the lone senior on the roster, playing in his final home match.
Quaynor had the last win of the day on court two, but he had to work for it. After falling behind 6-1 to Will Kistler, he bounced back to wn sets two and three by scores of 6-1 and 6-3.Â
Washington and Lee took home their only point of the day on court one where Evan Erb defeated
Efe Comu 0-6, 6-4, 10-4.

The Tars enter the SSC tournament as the #3 seed, and will face #6 Florida Southern on Thursday, April 20 from the IMG Academy in Bradenton.Â
