ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (March 21, 2023) - Rollins bumped their win-streak to three games with a doubleheader sweep of the Flagler Saints on Tuesday evening. The pair of victories pushes the Tars' record to 20-11 on the season.
Game One
Rollins 4
Flagler 0
The start of the game saw both teams with prime opportunities to score. Rollins had a runenr in scoring position in each of the first two innings, but could not push a run across. That changed in the third when
Grace Germer walked with one out, moved to third on a
Brie Michelli single, and scored on a
Taylor Waters groundball.
Ashley Troutman continued her ridiculous season with a solo home run in the fifth to extend the lead to 2-0. The next two Tars hitters also reached base, but were stranded.
The scoring wrapped up in the sixth when Troutman doubled home
Emma Gipple and
Sarah Young to make the final of 4-0.
Starter
Emily MacMullen didn't need much offensive support as she shut down the Saints on her own. She went the distance in the shutout, scattering five hits, walking none, and striking out seven to earn her elevnth win of the year.
Game Two
Rollins 3
Flagler 1
Troutman led off the game with a single, moved to second in a base hit from Germer, and third on a sac bunt from Michelli. Waters was up next, ripping a ball to first that was mishandled for an RBI error.
Rollins continued their scoring in the second. With
Taylor Hartman on third, Troutman popped a ball into foul territory on the first base side. The ball was caught, but was deep enough to allow Hartman to tag and score. Germer followed with an infield single to third that plated

From that point on, the Tars put their fate in the hands of Hartman, who was strong in the circle. Se tossed 4.1 innings, allowing just one hit and no runs.
Avery Garbarek relived her, and was solid, aside from giving up a solo home run.
Emily MacMullen then closed out the game with a scoreless sixth and seventh to earn the save.
