WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 28, 2023) – The Rollins men's tennis team easily dispatched of visiting Salem University on Tuesday, 7-0. The Tars improve to 5-1 on the year, while the Tigers fall to 3-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Doubles
- Charlie Putrino and Moritz Stenzer took down Tomas Acuna and Pablo Noya on court three, 6-1.
- Mikkel Baumann and Guillermo Castanedo clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 victory over Pablo Guillen and Daniel Paipa on court two.
- Efe Comu and Luke Quaynor made it a doubles sweep with a 6-2 win over Alessandro Fedeli and Max Mueller at the number one spot.
Singles
- Comu quickly took down Guillen on court two, 6-1, 6-1, for the first singles point.
- Richard Stoiberer made it 3-0 Tars with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Paipa on court three.
- Quaynor clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-3 defeat of Mueller at number one singles.
- Baumann made it 5-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Fedeli on court four.
- David Polo battled Acuna on court six, coming out on top with a 6-4, 5-7, 10-7 win.
- Phillip McMurray completed the 7-0 sweep in a hard-fought match at number five singles, eventually knocking off Noya, 7-6 (5), 6-4.
