ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (February 16, 2023) – The 23rd-ranked Rollins women's tennis team came up short on Thursday afternoon in St. Augustine, falling to fifth-ranked Flagler by a score of 7-0. The loss drops the Tars to 1-2 on the year, while the Saints go to 1-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Doubles
- Katie Groves and Polina Ligay gave the sixth-ranked duo of Luisa Hrda and Eryka Kruk a battle on court one, but the Flagler tandem escaped with a 7-5 win.
- The Saints captured the doubles point thanks to 6-1 wins on the other two courts.
Singles
- Hrda, ranked sixth in singles, defeated Groves on court one, 6-1, 6-1, the first of six wins for Flagler in singles play.
- Erin Yaroshuk was the lone Tar to capture a set, pushing Laura Jipescu to a third-set super tiebreak, but ultimately came up short, 5-7, 6-3, 10-4.
