Box Score WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 11, 2023) – The Rollins women's tennis team got the 2023 season off to a good start on Saturday with a 4-3 victory over visiting Palm Beach Atlantic. The win puts the Tars at 1-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play, while the Sailfish drop to 0-3 overall, 0-2 in SSC matches.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Doubles
- Though Maria McKay and Milla Falster downed Elvira Edstrom and Anabelle Robichaud on court two, 6-1, the Sailfish grabbed the doubles point with wins on courts one and three.
Singles
- Polina Vlasova got the Tars on the board with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Svea Crohn on court two.
- After PBA scored a point with a win on court five, McKay tied things up again with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Alessia Passerini on court four.
- The Sailfish got their third point with a win at number six singles, with Katie Groves answering back for the Tars with a 6-4, 6-1 defeat of Jasmine Williams on court one.
- The deciding point came down to court three, where Polina Ligay came up big with a hard-fought 6-0, 2-6, 7-5 victory over Alina Hoermann to secure the match for the Tars.
