AVE MARIA, Fla. (Oct. 9, 2023) – The Rollins women's swimming team blew past Ave Maria on Saturday, 161-25. The win evens the Tars' record at 1-1 this year, while the Gyrenes drop to 0-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Rollins opened the day by taking the top two spots in the 200-yard medley relay, with the A team touching the wall in 1:57.98 and the B team finishing in 2:01.09.
- Elizabeth Sander won the first individual event, the 200-yard freestyle, registering a 2:05.00; teammates Audrey Perry (2:05.89) and Brooke Postell (2:06.68) gave the Tars a 1-2-3 sweep of the race.
- The Tars swept the 100-yard backstroke as well, with Lauren Diehl (1:03.23), Mackenzie Adams (1:04.18), and Abigayle Wood (1:05.63) claiming the top three spots.
- Kassy McCoy (1:14.01) and Danielle Boland (1:20.43) finished second and third, respectively, in the 100-yard breaststroke.
- The third podium sweep of the day came in the 50-yard freestyle, where Alonna Clark (26.31), Megan Furuichi (26.42), and Abigayle Wood (26.93) all finished within .62 seconds of each other.
- Diehl led the fourth 1-2-3 finish of the day in the 100-yard freestyle, winning the race in 58.17 with Carly Yeagle (58.98) and Abby Flood (59.37) close behind in second and third, respectively.
- Rollins went 1-2 in the 500-yard freestyle as Postell won in 5:33.84 and Dylan Beeson claimed second in 5:45.35.
- Amelia Kondal (1:02.00) led the fifth sweep of the day, winning the 100-yard butterfly, followed by Leora Rose (1:03.12) in second and Boland (1:03.35) in third.
- The Blue and Gold closed out the individual events with its sixth and final 1-2-3 sweep, as Sander (1:03.90), Clark (1:04.32), and Furuichi (1:04.67) took the top three spots in the 100-yard individual medley.
- The Tars ended the day on a high note, with three relay teams taking the first three positions in the 200-yard freestyle relay, led by the A team (1:45.80), followed by the C team (1:47.30) and the B team (1:49.93).

The Tars will be back in the pool on Friday, Oct. 13, when they travel to NAIA No. 1 Keiser to face the defending NAIA National Champions in a 3 p.m. meet.
