AVE MARIA, Fla. (Oct. 9, 2023) – The Rollins men's swimming team earned its first win of the season on Saturday, besting Ave Maria by a score of 132-54. The Tars are now 1-1 on the season, while the Gyrenes are 0-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Tars took second and third in the 200-yard medley relay, with the A team posting a time of 1:40.75 and the B team touching the wall in 1:40.88.
- Trey Carter won the first individual event, the 200-yard freestyle, in 1:45.38, followed closely by Keanu Garnier-Chan (1:45.55) in second.
- Rollins went 1-2 again in the 100-yard backstroke, with William Slowey winning in 52.47 and Seth Basinger taking second in 54.27.
- Skylar Murphy made it three wins in a row as he took first in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:03.56.
- Luke Dinges kept the streak going with a winning time of 22.10 in the 50-yard freestyle, just .2 seconds ahead of second-place Richard Riley (22.30).
- In the 100-yard freestyle, Evan Larson was second in 50.01 and Benjamin Mann took third in 52.60.
- Basinger (4:47.36) and Andrew Boles (4:50.33) were the top two finishers in the 500-yard freestyle, with Basinger earning the fifth event win of the day for Rollins.
- Slowey led the first 1-2-3 sweep of the day in the 100-yard butterfly, posting a winning time of 53.02, followed by Larson (54.33) and Reeves Fisackerly (55.92).
- Michael Tucker won the final individual event, the 100-yard individual medley, in 55.20.
- Rollins' A team ended the day with a first-place time of 1:29.70 in the 200-yard freestyle relay, while the B team was third in 1:34.12.

The Tars will be back in the pool on Friday, Oct. 13, when they travel to NAIA No. 1 Keiser to face the defending NAIA National Champions in a 3 p.m. meet.
