SAVANNAH, Ga. (Jan. 7, 2023) – The Rollins wommen's swimming team fell to NAIA No. 2 SCAD Savannah on Saturday, 152-107. The Tars are now 3-4 on the season, while the Bees improved to 3-0 in dual meets.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Tars took third in the day's first event, the 400-yard medley relay, with the team of Amelia Kondal, Katherine Canty, Lydia Bohannon, and Alonna Clark touching the wall if 4:14.38.
- Jill Hughes won the first individual event, clocking a time of 10:40.86 in the 1000-yard freestyle to win by almost 17 seconds.
- Clark placed third in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:59.18.
- Elizabeth Sander (1:02.45) and Danielle Boland (1:03.03) took second and third, respectively, in the 100-yard backstroke.
- Abigayle Wood was third in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:09.53.
- Lauren Diehl came in third with a time of 2:17.86 in the 200-yard butterfly.
- Sarah Brown posted a third-place time of 25.76 in the 50-yard freestyle.
- Elliot Fox (2:14.49) and Sander (2:15.05) earned second and third place, respectively, in the 200-yard backstroke.
- Wood (2:27.92) and Canty (2:30.93) added another 2-3 finish for the Tars in the 200-yard breaststroke.
- Hughes won her second event of the day with a winning time of 5:12.65 in the 500-yard freestyle, with teammate Clark not too far behind with a second-place time of 5:16.98.
- Emily Hennessy grabbed the third event win for the Tars with a 59.91 in the 100-yard butterfly.
