FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (January 25, 2023) - The Nova Southeastern Sharks dominated their matchup with the Rollins Tars for the second time this year, taking Wednesday's contest by a score fo 98-55. Rollins now sits at 9-10 (5-6 SSC) on the year, while the Sharks remain undefeated on the season at 19-0 (12-0 SSC).
A rocky start for the Tars saw them turn the ball over on four of their first five possessions against the daunting Nova pressure defense. After
Kyle Marion's jumper made the score 5-4 with 16:27 to go, the Tars failed to score until a
Matheus Silveira layup at the 8:37 mark. The Sharks were relentless on both sides of the court, and ended the half up 47-15.
Hutton Yenor knocked down a pair of threes to start the second half, but the Tars continued to struggle stopping the Sharks. They were able to maintain a healthy lead for the remainder of the game, and wound up on top with a final of 98-55.
Yenor led the Tars in scoring with 15 points. That puts him at 1,599 for his career, which is good for 10th on the all-time list in Rollins program history.
Cody Potter added eleven points that included 3-4 shooting from long range.
Rollins will have a chance to bounce back on Saturday when they head to Melbourne to take on Florida Tech. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
