SAINT LEO, Fla. (Jan. 20, 2023) – The Rollins women's swimming team earned its fifth win of the season on Friday, defeating Saint Leo on the road, 102-93. The Tars even their record at 5-5 in dual meets this year, while the Lions drop to 0-6.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The team of Alonna Clark, Abigayle Wood, Emily Hennessy, and Sarah Brown took second place in the opening event, the 400-yard medley relay, in 4:03.61.
- Jill Hughes took second in the first individual event, the 1000-yard freestyle, with a time of 10:48.70.
- Alonna Clark was the top Tar finisher in the 200-yard freestyle, placing second in 1:57.49.
- Dylan Beeson added another runner-up finish for Rollins with a 25.52 in the 50-yard freestyle.
- Amelia Kondal stopped the clock in 2:17.13 to take second in the 200-yard individual medley.
- Emily Hennessy got the first win of the day for the Tars, posting a winning time of 2:11.90 in the 200-yard butterfly.
- Brown touched the wall second in the 100-yard freestyle in 54.59.
- Elliot Fox logged win number two with a time of 2:11.61 to finish first in the 200-yard backstroke.
- Clark grabbed her third runner-up finish of the day with a 5:11.94 in the 500-yard freestyle.
- Katherine Canty took home a victory in the 200-yard breaststroke, posting a time of 2:27.35 for the third win of the day for the Tars.
- Brown, Kondal, Hennessy, and Clark closed out the day with a second-place time of 3:42.05 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
