SAINT LEO, Fla. (Jan. 20, 2023) – The Rollins men's swimming team grabbed its third win of the season on Friday, defeating Saint Leo on the road by a score of 107-96. The Tars are now 3-7 in dual meets this year, while the Lions drop to 2-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Skylar Murphy, Tully Njoroge, Luke Dinges, and Chance Ricca combined for a time of 3:30.15 in the opening 400-yard medley relay, good for a second-place finish.
- Daniel Liew (10:18.34) took second in the 1000-yard freestyle.
- Cameron Dolly touched the wall third in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:47.45.
- Trey Carter placed second with a time of 22.15 in the 50-yard freestyle.
- Njoroge was second in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:00.67.
- Dinges grabbed the first victory for Rollins, winning the 200-yard butterfly in 1:55.55.
- William Slowey made it back-to-back wins as he placed first in the 100-yard freestyle in 47.35.
- Murphy earned a second-place result with a time of 1:57.56 in the 200-yard backstroke.
- Carter took win number three for the Tars with a time of 4:53.53 in the 500-yard freestyle.
- Slowey won his second event and fourth overall for Rollins with a 2:09.72 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
- The team of Ricca, Dolly, Cruse Sweeney, and Slowey capped the day with a runner-up time of 3:14.47 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
