PEMBROKE, N.C. (April 7, 2022) – The Rollins baseball team fell one spot but remained in the top ten in this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Top 25 Poll, coming in at No. 10 after being ranked ninth for the previous two weeks.

Tampa remained at No. 1, followed by Wingate at No. 2, Point Loma at No. 3, Central Missouri at No. 4, and Columbus State at No. 5. The Spartans and the Tars were the only two SSC programs to receive votes in this week's poll.
The Tars went 1-2 last week, dropping two-of-three in an SSC series against Florida Southern over the weekend, putting their season record at 23-9 and 9-6 in conference play.
The Tars are currently tied for third in NCAA II in shutouts with six and rank sixth in double plays turned with 34. The pitching staff has been dominant, ranking third in the country in WHIP (1.07), fifth in walks allowed/9 IP (2.68), and fifth in hits allowed/9 IP (6.94); Rollins is either first or second in the SSC in all of those categories as well.
Individually,
Jaylyn Whitehead is fifth in the nation in WHIP (0.79), sixth in ERA (0.93), and 15th in victories (6), while
Justin Alintoff is first in walks allowed/9 IP (0.31) and third in strikeout-to-walk ratio (18.50), and
Austin Long is first in hits allowed/9 IP (4.54). Offensively,
Nick Santucci is fourth in the SSC with eight home runs and eighth in total bases with 68, while
Chase Achuff is second in the conference with 11 doubles and is tied for eighth with four saves.
The Tars are on the road this weekend, taking on Barry in Miami Shores in a three-game conference series. Game one is set for tomorrow night at 5 p.m.
