Tars Fall at Flagler

Flagler defeated Rollins 4-1 on Tuesday evening

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (March 31, 2026) - The baseball team suffered a non-conference road loss on Tuesday, falling 4-1 to the Flagler Saints. The Tars now sit at 20-9 on the season, while the Saints improve to 23-11.

Rollins had a great opportunity in their first at bat, loading the bases with two outs, but a groundout to the pitcher neutralized the threat. In response, Flagler was able to score two runs on three hits and a sac bunt to take a 2-0 lead.

The next three innings flew by as neither team truly threatened with baserunners. In the fifth, Rollins showed some life, starting with a one-out Mauri Bejarano single. After stealing second base, he was brought home on a single from Michael Furry, who was playing his first game since February 27 at Saint Leo.

The next opportunity for the Tars came in the seventh with a runner on second with one out. Unfortunately, a pair of groundballs couldn't find the holes in the infield, leacing Stephen Deans stranded.

The final runs of the game came in the eighth when Jesse Sullivan drove in two with an RBI double. Rollins went down in order in the ninth to end the game.

Rollins managed only three hits in the game, a far cry from their season average of 9.7 per game. Tyler Toro looked solid on the mound with two innings of shutout baseball with three strikeouts. Mark Loubier also added a perfect inning.

It's a quick turnaround for the Tars as they prep to host Florida Tech starting on Thursday, followed by a doubleheader on Friday. The games were moved off the weekend due to the Easter holiday. First pitch is at 2pm on Thursday, April 2.
