WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 5, 2022) – Despite a strong effort in every match, the 29th-ranked Rollins women's tennis team came up short against ninth-ranked Lynn on Tuesday afternoon, 5-2. With the loss, the Tars are now 10-7 overall, 3-4 in SSC play, while the Fighting Knights improve to 12-4, 5-3 in conference matches.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Doubles
- After Lynn got a win on court two, the seventh-ranked duo of Alexandra Borg and Georgina Groth pulled off an upset of fourth-ranked Jacqueline Wagner and Karyna Bihel on court one, 6-3, to tie the doubles contest at a match apiece.
- The Fighting Knights claimed the doubles point with a 6-3 win on court three.
Singles
- Groth took down Wagner on court one in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, to tie the match at a point apiece.
- Lynn won the next four singles matches to clinch the overall match.
- Borg continued to battle on court two, eventually triumphing over Zofia Podbiol in a hard-fought 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 win to give the Tars their second point of the day.

The Tars will wrap up the home portion of the 2022 season on Saturday, April 9, when they welcome second-ranked Nova Southeastern for a 1 p.m. contest.
