LAKELAND, Fla. (April 3, 2022) – Rollins split a doubleheader against Florida Southern, to earn a series win over the Mocs. Both games went into extra innings, with the Tars dropping game one, 4-3, in eight innings, before taking the rubber match, 5-4, in 12 frames. The Tars end the day at 20-6 overall and 11-4 in Sunshine State Conference play. The Mocs move to 14-18 overall, and 3-12 in conference play.

GAME ONE: Florida Southern 4, Rollins 3 (8)
Raiven Bryant tallied a pair of doubles, and two RBI, to lead the Rollins offense.Â
Ashley Troutman went 1-4 with a run scored.Â
Emily MacMullen tossed 7.2 innings, giving up four runs on six hits, as she picked up the loss.Â
Ashley Worrell faced one batter in the circle.

Jadin DeWith tallied a hit and a pair of RBI from the Mocs' leadoff spot. Maddi Conner picked up two hits for Florida Southern. The Mocs used seven arms in the circle, with Mel Rogers throwing two frames and earning the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Second Inning
- The Mocs crossed the plate twice, both with two outs.
- DeWith slapped the two RBI single that give Florida Southern the lead.
Third Inning
- Rollins pulled one run back. Lexi Moore reached base on a one out error to start the frame.
- Moore scored when Raiven Bryant laced a double to right center field.
Fourth Inning
- Florida Southern regained a two run lead as they manufactured a run in the fourth.
- The Mocs got the leadoff runner on with a hit by pitch. The base runner advanced with a steal and a sacrifice bunt, before scoring on a wild pitch.
Fifth Inning
- Rollins equalized in the fifth with a pair of runs.
- Taylor Waters crossed the plate on an Ashley Trountman single to bring Rollins back within one.
- Troutman then equalized on a second Bryant double.
Seventh Inning
- Both teams went down in order in the seventh, taking the game to extra innings.
Eighth Inning
- The Mocs loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the eighth, chasing Emily MacMullen.
- A two out single, up the middle, ended the game, as Florida Southern walked off with the win.
GAME TWO: Rollins 5, Florida Southern 4 (12)
Chelsea Peace tallied a 2-4 contest, and scored a run.Â
Tyler Jo Colby also registered a pair of hits, including a triple, with an RBI.Â
Katie Eicher went 1-3 with a pair of RBI, while
Jaden Walker went 1-5 with a homerun.Â
Ashley Worrell got the start, tossing six innings, while giving up three runs, only one earned. She was relieved by Eicher, who threw five shutout innings to get the win.Â
Emily MacMullen earned the save with perfect inning of work.

Destiny Colgate registered a game high four hits, in six at bats, including a double. Jessica Bryson registered a pair of hits and an RBI. The Mocs used seven pitchers in the contest, with Lane Edgington picking up the loss, in four innings of work.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Second Inning:
- Florida Southern got on the board first with a two out rally.
- A walk and a single put two runners on.
- The Mocs crossed home plate after a Rollins fielding error.
Third Inning
Sixth Inning
- Rollins extended their lead with a Jaden Walker homerun. The sophomore outfielder lifted the ball over the left field wall to make the score 3-1.
Seventh Inning
- A walk and an error set the stage for a Moc comeback.
- Florida Southern pulled within one on a sacrifice fly, and drew level with an RBI single.
- Katie Eicher retired the last out, with runners on the corners, to send the game to extra innings.
Twelfth Inning
- Grace Germer started the 12th for Rollins with a one out bunt single.
- Troutman used her speed to reach on an infield single to get a pair of Tars on base.
- Eicher then knocked a single to center field, scoring the pair of runners and giving Rollins a 5-3 cushion in extra innings.
- The Mocs opened the bottom of the 12th with three straight singles, scoring a run to make the score 5-4.
- Emily MacMullen then entered the game and induced three consecutive pop outs to give the Tars the series win.

The Tars host Barry in SSC action. Rollins and Buccaneers will begin their series on Friday, April 8, with first pitch set for 7 p.m.
