TEMPE, Ariz. (March 10, 2022) – The Tars rose five spots in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, settling at No. 29.Â
Alexandra Borg and
Georgina Groth continue to be counted as one of the best doubles partnerships in the country, sitting in the No. 7 spot in the doubles rankings.

The Tars have tallied a 9-6 overall record, and are even, at 3-3, in Sunshine State Conference play. The Tars picked up wins over then No. 32 West Virginia State and No. 40 Palm Beach Atlantic. The Tars are entering the final portions of the season, and are in the middle of a stretch of eight consecutive matches against ranked opponents.

Borg and Groth have tallied an 11-4 overall record, playing exclusively in the top doubles position. The pair are in the midst of a nine match winning streak and won their only competition against nationally ranked foes.

The SSC is well represented in the rankings, with Barry leading the way in the top spot, followed by Nova Southeastern at No. 2. Saint Leo, at No. 8, and Lynn, at No. 9, also earn top ten spots. Tampa owns the No. 12 spot in the poll. The No. 28 Embry-Riddle Eagles are one spot ahead of the No. 29 Tars. Florida Southern, No. 39, and No. 41 Palm Beach Atlantic round out the conference contingent.
