BOCA RATON, Fla. (March 4, 2022) – The Tars extend their winning streak to four, taking the opening of their three game set against the Lynn Fighting Knights by a score of 5-1. The Tars improve to 8-3 overall, and 2-2 in Sunshine State Conference play. Lynn falls to 5-11, and 0-7 against conference opposition.

Chelsea Peace and
Tyler Jo Colby both tallied 1-3 afternoons, each registered a double, while driving in a pair of runs.Â
Taylor Waters went 1-3 and registered the teams remaining RBI.Â
Ashley Troutman scored twice on a 1-3 outing.Â
Ashley Worrell and
Emily MacMullen split time in the circle. The pair combined for seven strikeouts, with MacMullen earning the win.

Taylor Scala went 4-4 on the day to lead the Lynn offense. Karlie Sweiderk registered a pair of hits and an RBI, while Danielle Pasquariello scored the lone Fighting Knight run. Madison Prickett was charged with the loss, throwing 5.1 innings while giving up five runs, only one earned. Haley Fardanesh closed out the final 1.2 frames.

HOW IT HAPPENNED:
First Inning
- Rollins jumped out to an early lead. Ashley Troutman slapped a leadoff double to left field. The junior then rounded the bases on a groundout and scored on a Chelsea Peace sacrifice fly.
- The Fighting Knights put a pair of runners on with only one out, but Ashley Worrell induced a pair of groundouts to maintain the Tars' early advantage.
Second Inning
- The Fighting Knights would threaten again, loading the bases with one out, but another pair of groundouts got Rollins out of the jam.
Fourth Inning
- Lynn finally broke through, drawing level in the fourth. A Sweiderk double plated the run.
- MacMullen entered in relief and tallied a strikeout to end the frame.
Sixth Inning
- The Tars' big inning was keyed by Lynn mistakes. A one out walk and an error put runners on first and second.
- Chelsea Peace started the scoring by driving a double to center field, plating Troutman.
- After Worrell reached base on another Lynn error, Tyler Jo Colby launched a double of her own, scoring Raiven Bryant and Chelsea Peace.
- Taylor Waters capped the inning with a single that drove Worrell home, making the score 5-1.
Seventh Inning
- The Tars easily handled the Fighting Knight offense in the final frame, sealing the win.
