WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 2, 2022) – The Rollins men's tennis team handed Davenport its first loss of the season on Wednesday night, defeating the Panthers by a score of 6-1. The Tars improved to 3-3 with the victory, while Davenport fell to 11-1.
COACH'S QUOTES:
"It was nice to have the first night match in a very long time and the guys really stepped up the entertainment factor," Head Coach
Jay Friedman said. "Any time you have a team come in that's 11-0 you know they are going to give you a ton of things to work through out there and tonight our guys did just that and solved the problem on nearly every court. I'm very proud of these guys and the way they played tonight."
HOW IT HAPPENED:

Singles
- Golubev, ranked fifth in NCAA II singles, made quick work of van Antwerpen on court one, 6-1, 6-2.
- McMurray breezed past Jose Brenes on court six, 6-2, 6-2, giving the Tars a 3-0 edge, and Baumann clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-4 defeat of Mast on court four.
- Comu took down van Wijk on court two (6-1, 7-5) and Stenzer defeated Khitrou (6-3, 6-4) on court five to make it 6-0 before Davenport got its lone point of the match on court three.
UP NEXT:
The Tars will travel to St. Petersburg on Friday to face Eckerd in an SSC match that is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
