Men’s Tennis Downs Eckerd, 5-2

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (March 4, 2022) – The Rollins men's tennis team took down conference foe Eckerd on the road on Friday by a score of 5-2. The Tars improved to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in conference with the win, while the Tritons fell to 1-5, 0-3 in SSC play.

COACH'S QUOTES:
"After dropping the doubles point, our guys regrouped and for the second straight match Mikkel Baumann was able to clinch it for us in the singles with a convincing second set," Head Coach Jay Friedman said. "I was glad to see Alex Bucurescu find his footing in his first college match and dialed in some energy to get it going. It's certainly a better bus ride back having turned the singles around after the doubles, and I think we are all looking forward to a big match Wednesday morning at home."

  • Efe Comu and Phillip McMurray took down Eric Asakura and Arik Suez at No. 3 doubles, 6-2, to open play.
  • The Tritons rallied for victories on courts one and two to take the doubles point, however.
