No. 24 Men’s Tennis Beats Bentley, 6-1


WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 14, 2022) – The 24th-ranked Rollins men's tennis team won its fifth straight match on Monday, besting Bentley by a score of 6-1. The Tars now stand at 7-3, while the Falcons fall to 5-5.


COACH'S QUOTES:
"Solid performance by the team today as we look ahead to some quality training and preparing for our conference slate ahead," Head Coach Jay Friedman said.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Doubles Singles
  • Comu was dominant on court one, defeating Daniel Weitz, 6-0, 6-0, for the first singles point of the match.
  • Baumann easily dispatched of Alexander Nevins on court four, 6-0, 6-3, to make it 3-0 Tars.
  • Stenzer clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Gabe Horowitz on court five.
  • Brignacca took down Max Bonte, 6-2, 7-5, on court two, making it a 5-0 score.
  • Phillip McMurray swept Andrew Broom, 6-4, 6-4 on court six.
  • The Falcons scored their lone point when Soifer eeked out a 7-6 (7), 7-6 (4) win over Putrino on court three.
 
UP NEXT:
The Tars will have a bit of a break before hosting Atlantis on Sunday, March 27 at 3 p.m. That match was originally scheduled to take place earlier this season but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
