WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 11, 2022) – The 24th-ranked men's tennis team took down another top-25 opponent on Friday, besting No. 21 Wayne State 4-3. The win moves the Tars to 6-3 on the year, while the Warriors fall to 9-3.
COACH'S QUOTES:
"This matchup looked tough on paper and honestly they gave us all we could handle," Head Coach
Jay Friedman said. "A few key guys stepped up really big as the lights came on. After a very contentious doubles point where Charlie and Mo stayed sharp to the end to clinch it, we dropped all three matches in the middle and the first set on court six. Efe came ready for a battle and saw it through, and despite being down early, Denis solved the riddle when the score got tight to pull ahead both at the end of the first set and to finish off the match giving us a 3-3 match with Mo left playing. Really proud of Mo for keeping his composure, sticking to the game plan, and executing to put us on top!"
