HOW IT HAPPENED:
Second Inning
- The Tars had a scoring threat in the second inning which started with Nick Santucci reaching on an error with one out.
- Parker Smith followed by lacing a 3-2 pitch down the left field line for a double, pushing Santucci to third base.
- Fletcher was able to get the next two batters to ground out and fly out, respectively, to get out of the jam.
Fourth Inning
- Lynn broke through for what would prove to be the game's only run in the fourth.
- Orrico led off with a single, and three batters later, Alfonso doubled him home with two outs.
Eighth Inning
- Rollins threatened to tie it up in the bottom of the eighth, all via a two-out rally.
- Timothy Mira singled to get the two-out rally going.
- Aidan Healy pinch ran for Mira, and when Rubin singled up the middle, Healy was able to get over to third base.
- Two pitches later, Rubin moved up to second base on a wild pitch, putting two in scoring position.
- Unfortunately for the Tars, Chase Achuff grounded out to end the inning.
Ninth Inning
- Lynn tried to add to its lead, loading the bases with out in the ninth.
- Austin Long was able to induce a foulout for the second out and then struck out the next batter on three straight called strikes to end the inning, keeping it a 1-0 game.
- Adams Torres led off the bottom of the ninth with a walk, but the Tars were unable to get anyone as far as second base in the inning.
