WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 1, 2022) – The Rollins women's tennis team earned its second 7-0 sweep of the season on Tuesday, downing Eckerd to improve to 4-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play. The Tritons fell to 1-5, 0-5 in SSC matches.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Doubles
- The Tars only surrendered a combined total of four games in doubles play, with 19th-ranked Alexandra Borg and Georgina Groth winning the clinching match at No. 1 doubles with a 6-1 defeat of Alexis Kwasnik and Raia Jagger.
Singles
- All six matches were won in straight sets, with Natalia Collado Cordon the first to finish on court five, downing Julia Triska 6-0, 6-1.
- Polina Vlasova made it 3-0 Tars with a 6-2, 6-0 defeat of Lili Reichert on court three, and Maria McKay clinched the overall match with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Kwasnik on court four.
- Kaitlynn Groves bested Theo Schultz 6-1, 6-1 on court two, and Borg took care of Kylie Misdorp at the top spot, 6-1, 6-2.
- Eve Wasil made it a clean sweep with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Jagger on court six.
